Rompetrol Well Services (RWS) is a Romanian company specialising in oil and natural gas well services, with over 75 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Its portfolio includes cementing, sand control, well stimulation, wireline services, nitrogen services, casing running, and equipment and tool rentals.
The company provides services to oil and gas operators and contractors, with cementing accounting for over 50% of its turnover. In recent years, RWS has worked with more than 40 oil companies and drilling contractors across Romania, Europe, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Jordan and Turkey, delivering solutions tailored to the technical requirements of each project.
RWS provides technical support and supervises ongoing operations across Europe and Central Asia, relying on well-equipped operational bases and experienced teams trained by European specialists. Knowledge sharing between generations is encouraged through hands-on training and in-house programmes tailored to each area of activity.
In 1998, the company began the process of listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), followed by full privatisation in 2000. In 2007, the acquisition of the Rompetrol Group by KazMunayGas, Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company, brought RWS into an internationally active group and opened up new opportunities for development and modernisation.

The performance of technological processes is continuously measured and monitored. The data collected is used to optimize operations and continuously improve the system.
The company continuously invests in modernization programs to improve its cementing, stimulation and casing services, as well as to develop and implement advanced simulation software and data acquisition systems. Investment programs cover both the equipment used in operations and the technologies needed to meet customer requirements.
Before an operation begins, all stages are assessed in terms of the associated risks through risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and work permits. No activity starts before hazards have been identified and the necessary control measures have been established.
Through its professional training program, the company ensures that operational personnel are competent, properly trained and able to apply work procedures, as well as emergency response procedures.
Rompetrol Well Services has implemented and maintained an integrated management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, covering quality management, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety management.
