Well stimulation is a well intervention designed to improve well productivity by injecting specialized fluids under pressure into the formation to clean and unblock the pore space around the wellbore. By removing blockages and increasing formation permeability, the treatment can help improve well productivity.

RWS provides the personnel, equipment and services required to perform well stimulation operations, including the high-pressure injection of various fluid blends into the reservoir rock matrix.

Depending on the type of treatment, the fluids used may be acid-based or formulated with other substances. They are prepared and pumped under controlled conditions, according to the characteristics of the well and the objectives of the operation.

The services include:

• Acid stimulation of sandstone formations
• Pressure acidizing treatments
• CO₂ injection

The operation involves several stages, from reviewing the client's requirements and determining the necessary equipment, materials and chemicals to mobilizing the team and setting up the equipment at the wellsite. The fluids are then prepared and pumped into the well, while parameters such as pressure and flow rate are monitored throughout the intervention to maintain control of the operation.

In addition to acid-based treatments, well stimulation services may include the pumping of enzyme- or solvent-based fluids, WSO (Water Shut-Off) treatments, hypochlorite, hot oil treatments, as well as other pumping operations. RWS also provides water and brine filtration services down to 2 μm (microns).
