Objective: 84 new fuel stations

Aligned with the strategy adopted by its shareholders in 2019 – KMG International and the Romanian State through SAPE – the Fund aims to reach a total of 84 fuel stations.

The new distribution stations will operate under the Rompetrol brand, fully aligned with its quality and operational standards, and are expected to generate over 1,000 new jobs. In addition, a substantial workforce will be engaged throughout the various development phases — from design and construction to commercial operations. Fuel supply will be provided by Rompetrol Rafinare, Romania’s largest refinery and one of the most advanced facilities in the Black Sea region.

A pioneering concept

The 12 integrated Rompetrol centers are part of a new concept that features spacious areas dedicated to restaurants, cafés, and retail, located along the A1 Motorway (Orăștie – Sibiu section).

Part of Pan-European Transport Corridor IV (Dresden – Istanbul), the A1 Motorway is the primary road link between Romania and Hungary, as well as Western EU countries, serving both commercial and tourism traffic.

With approximately 45–65 new employees per station, each unit is equipped with fuel dispensers for passenger vehicles, two fast-refueling points for trucks, buses, and heavy-duty vehicles, an AdBlue pump, an LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) skid, vapor recovery systems, and LED lighting. In addition, every station includes four fast-charging points for electric vehicles.

Rompetrol implements eMobility project

KMG Rompetrol Development implements an eMobility project, co-financed by the European Union through the financing instrument "Connecting Europe Facility" (CEF-Transport).

The project aims to install 11 300 kW charging stations (each station with two 150 kW charging points) and to upgrade the grid connection for 11 locations with a power of 600 kVA each in CNAIR1 locations.
