Petroleum Products Laboratory – Vega Ploiești

The laboratory at the Vega refinery specializes in testing liquid petroleum products, bitumen samples, solvents, and n-hexane. Activities are organized in specialized technical units, based on the type of testing:

  • Performs physico-chemical analyses for raw materials, semi-finished and finished products: density, distillation, flash and freeze points, viscosity, color, etc. Includes specific testing for bitumen (penetration, softening point, RTFOT test, Fraass breaking point), etc.
  • Conducts complex analyses for liquid products and bitumen: sulfur, kinematic viscosity, residual carbon, paraffin content, solubility, etc.
  • Performs composition determinations for gasoline and solvent fractions, benzene content, aromatic hydrocarbons, and n-hexane, saturated, aromatic, and polar compounds – including NMP, using thin-layer chromatography.A continuous workflow ensures fast processing of analyses and data confidentiality.
