The environmental laboratories in Năvodari and Ploiești perform real-time monitoring of air, water, soil, sludge, and waste quality.
For accidental pollution scenarios, a mobile laboratory is available, equipped for atmospheric emission measurements in compliance with EU standards.
Types of testing:
Water – physico-chemical analysis of wastewater, groundwater, surface water, and drinking water: pH, conductivity, chemical and biochemical oxygen demand, phenols, nitrogen (all forms), phosphates, chlorides, metals, petroleum product content, etc.
Soil – tests on agricultural and industrial soils: pH, total hydrocarbon content determination (C10–C40), conductivity, petroleum product, dry residue and water content, moisture, metals, etc.
Waste – determinations by Order 95/2005 for the characterization of solid and liquid waste.
Air – wide range of emission testing (total and settleable dust, H₂S,NH₃,SO₂,NO₂, NO, CO, VOCs, noise, etc.), fugitive/diffuse emissions (VOCs), and stationary source emissions (flue gases, particulates, total gaseous organic carbon – TOC).
Occupational pollutants – workplace exposure factors: noise levels, lighting, microclimate, particulates, etc.
ACIRAR Workshop (Respiratory Equipment Control, Maintenance, and Repair)
Equipped for testing respiratory protective equipment: gas masks, air supply systems, and compressed air apparatus. Activities are carried out by qualified and authorized personnel.
