Rompetrol, in partnership with the Association Daruieşte Aripi, purchased and donated ophtalmology equipment for the health center in Corbu commune, Constanta, with a value of 115,000 lei, which will serve 6,500 inhabitants of the villages of Luminita, Vadu and Corbu.
"The Petromidia platform represents an economic pillar of stability for the region, a top employer of Constanta county, a large contributor to the local budget, a constant investor and a partner for communities. We have 2,000 colleagues who work on the platform, of which 135 live in the Corbu commune, and through this project we address them and all those who need medical services locally" – Felix Crudu, the General Manager of Rompetrol Rafinare.
The medical center in Corbu was rehabilitated by the city hall and also equipped last year, through a Rompetrol investment, with beds, portable ultrasound, vital functions monitor, defibrillator, oxygen concentrator, EKG, sterilizer.
This year the company carries out several investment projects in the community, to name some of them: at the Constanta County Hospital - the emergency ward unit has been modernized, as well as the obstetrics-gynecology compartment; the sheltered housing in Lazu is under rehabilitation, in partnership with DGASPC; in Navodari, the inauguration of the radiology unit, immunology and microbiology laboratories shall follow after an investment of over USD 300,000. Other investments in health are planned until the end of this year.
Annually, the company invests more than USD 500,000 for projects in Dobrogea region, through various partnerships with associations, medical units, schools and local authorities. Among the completed projects we mention - equipping the Constanta County Hospital with beds and all the medical equipment necessary for intensive care units; fuel to ensure the transport of medical personnel and the care of oncological patients (through the Daruieste Aripi Association); fuel for the Constanta Emergency Service; uniforms and training equipment for ISU Dobrogea; support for the online courses in 14 rural schools in the county, by providing the necessary technical infrastructure (video projectors, laptops, microphones, headphones, internet), for 3000 children.
