Rompetrol, in partnership with the Romanian Association of Luthiers Artists (AALR), has recently donated musical instruments to the “Dinu Lipatti” Arts High School in Piteşti, contributing to the support, education, and training of young people as future renowned musicians. The initiative is part of a series of projects through which the company has previously supported the equipment of the “Carmen Sylva” Arts College in Ploieşti and the “Regina Maria” National College of Arts in Constanţa.

The donation includes 31 handcrafted musical instruments made by Romanian artisans — violins, violas, cellos, double basses, pan flutes, and guitars — essential for the development and support of students in their artistic training.

Rompetrol (KMG International) supports music schools by providing equipment, contributing to the development of new generations of artists. This support helps young musicians gain confidence, participate in the George Enescu International Competition and Festival, and, over time, perform on the world’s major stages. Through its ongoing involvement in music education and significant cultural projects, the company promotes Romanian cultural values and opens them up to an international audience.

“We are pleased to continue, together with Rompetrol, the mission of bringing high-quality instruments to art schools in Romania. For us, as luthiers, supporting the training of young musicians means investing in the future of Romanian culture. Each instrument offered today represents an additional opportunity for these students to discover their potential and, tomorrow, to reach the great stages of the world. We are honored to contribute to the development of a new generation of artists and to have partners who believe in the importance of this endeavor,” said Stoica Florin-Alinel, President of the Romanian Luthiers Association.

The initiative reflects the joint effort of Rompetrol and AALR to facilitate access to high-quality music education, with equipment projects aimed at supporting and strengthening Romanian cultural traditions. Improving school resources enhances the quality of educational programs and the process of artistic training, with the project implemented in Piteşti — and in the other arts colleges—creating the foundation for an educated generation focused on specialized professional development.

Rompetrol has a longstanding tradition of supporting culture by sponsoring internationally recognized events, having been a partner of the George Enescu International Festival and Competition for 16 years, and since 2024, the main partner of the George Enescu Philharmonic.

The Romanian Luthiers Association (AALR) brings together master luthiers dedicated to preserving tradition and excellence in the art of crafting and restoring string musical instruments. Founded to promote the quality and authenticity of handcrafted instruments, the association actively supports the professional development of its members, upholds high standards of luthiery, and collaborates with renowned artists and institutions to preserve this valuable craft in Romania. AALR also organizes educational and artistic events, promoting instruments created by its members both nationally and internationally.
