Employees of Rompetrol started the fall tree planting on Romania's Sustainability Day by planting 1000 forest seedlings in Păltiniş, Sibiu County, out of a total of 10,000. These trees will occupy an area of 2.4 ha. This action was carried out through the program Plantăm fapte bune în România – Seeding good deeds in Romania.
„In addition to the investment projects carried out at the Group level, for the management of greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the European regulations in force, we are committed to afforest large areas of land in different regions of the country every year. The action is part of the Group's sustainability strategy and plays an important role in managing the double crisis of climate change and biodiversity loss. New forests protect local ecosystems against extreme weather events triggered by climate change. The trees planted this year will contribute to a sustainable and climate-resilient future for this region for generations to come.
„The mission EcoAssist Association has undertaken since 2011 and up till now has remained unchanged - We plant! We tend! We reafforest! For more than 3 years Rompetrol has been our reliable financial partner. The employees of the company got involved voluntarily in planting activities as well as in the landscaping and greening of the gas stations areas. Through this activity we kept our commitment, which we undertook during 2023 Rompetrol Run and Care, to plant as many trees as participants to the charitable marathon.
For the past 3 years, as part of the “We plant good deeds in Romania” initiative, the company has planted around 60.000 trees especially in Prahova, Constanta and Ilfov Counties.
