KMG Rompetrol – the management division of KMG International Group in Romania was granted a procurement excellence award for advanced silver level by the global professional organization the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) for high standards in procurement practices.

“We would like to mention that the awarding of the Silver certification implied a full analysis of the procurement activity and included 5 major activity streams from Leadership, Strategy, People and Processes to Performance Management within KMG Rompetrol” said Florin Alecu, Head of Procurement Services Center.

KMG Rompetrol is the first company from Romania and from Eastern Europe, to receive the Procurement Excellence Advanced Silver Award in 2020, the certification awarded by CIPS.

KMG Rompetrol operations have enhanced due to more streamlined activity of their projects since 2020 and their first award, which contributed to higher performance across the Group’s operations, as a direct result of improved procurement processes.

In recent years, the company’s procurement processes have been aligned to international standards, simplifying the process of contracts approval at Group level, improving supplier management, reducing risks, and improving the quality of their services and goods. 

Receiving CIPS PEP award also demonstrates a higher degree of trust in the industry and supports the establishment of new partnerships and provides access to a growing network of business representatives in key industries.

PEP (Procurement Excellence Program) is a globally recognized award granted to those organizations demonstrating excellence in their procurement and supply chain activities. The award drives regular improvements, value across supply chains and highlights procurement’s role as a fundamental part of an organization’s strategy and effectiveness.
