Rompetrol-KMG International continues its partnership of more than two decades with the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploieşti (UPG) by modernising an amphitheatre dedicated to academic activities and interaction between students and industry professionals. The investment contributes to the development of the educational infrastructure of one of Romania’s leading universities in the field, with approximately 7,000 students.
The new Rompetrol Amphitheatre has been fully refurbished to provide students with a modern, functional and comfortable space adapted to today’s learning requirements. The works included improvements to the flooring and walls, upgrades to the air-conditioning and lighting systems, replacement of the furniture, and enhanced accessibility and comfort.
The investment is part of the long-standing partnership between Rompetrol and UPG Ploieşti, through which the Group supports the education and development of future generations of engineers and energy specialists, while strengthening the connection between academic education and practical industry experience.

The partnership will continue with the completion of the Process Automation Laboratory at UPG. The project will provide students with access to modern technologies and learning conditions aligned with the evolving needs of the industry, contributing to the development of the technical skills required by future specialists.

For 25 years, Rompetrol-KMG International has consistently invested in preparing new generations of energy specialists through programmes that complement academic education with practical experience and direct exposure to the realities of the industry.
Students and graduates have access to practical training, internship and traineeship programmes, mentoring and professional development opportunities, as well as the prospect of building a career within the Group’s companies.
This year, 21 students from the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploieşti joined Rompetrol’s internship programme, with the opportunity to continue their professional journey within the Group upon completion of the programme.
